During your consultation

Kovan Dentist, Dr Michele Chia will carry out a clinical and x-ray examination of the affected tooth to determine the severity of the condition and advise on the appropriate treatment required.

Step 3
During your treatment

If root canal treatment is required, you may be assured that our clinic uses microscopic and up-to-date endodontic techniques to optimize treatment outcomes.

1. A small access hole is made on the surface of the tooth.

2. The infected tissues in the root canal system are removed gently and the root canal system is disinfected.

3. The disinfected root canal system is filled to prevent reinfection, and a filling is placed to close the small access hole.

Follow Up

For minimal disruptions, your follow up appointments are prioritised according to your schedule to ensure that the tooth is healing well.

Root canal therapy will usually save the tooth and eliminate the pain

Dr Michele Chia

Dental Surgeon (special interest in Endodontics)

Dr Michele’s special interest is in Endodontics - a branch of dentistry concerned with diseases and injuries of the dental pulp and surrounding structures. She is well versed in the use of microscopic endodontic and microsurgical techniques to save teeth with infected root canals, teeth involved in dental trauma, and the management of cracked teeth.

Dr Michele qualified with honours at the National University of Ireland. She subsequently obtained her Master of Clinical Dentistry with Distinction in her chosen field of Endodontology from King’s College London and was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the same year. She is also a member of the Society of Endodontists Singapore.
